Every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. (John 15:2)

Every tree that produces fruit will be pruned. Pruning is not punishment; it is love in action. God often prunes through correction, not because we are failing, but because:

1. He corrects those He loves
2. He sees more in us than we can imagine.

No correction seems pleasant at the time. Pruning often feels uncomfortable because it removes what we have grown used to, even when those things once produced fruit.

We may say, “I was good with the way things were.” Yet the goal is not simply to be good—the goal is to be like God.

God invites us to grow beyond what we know and what feels safe. If we yield to the pruning, our humility will allow God to help us grow into who He has called us to be.

Stop resisting the pruning and start resting in the hands of the Gardener. Growth requires surrender.

Prayer

Father, help me not to resist Your pruning. Give me a humble heart that trusts Your correction and Your process. Teach me to rest in You, knowing that You are shaping me to be more fruitful and more like You.
