And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:9-10)

Jesus says this after His encounter with Zacchaeus, a tax collector who was considered one of the worst kind of sinner by many. Zacchaeus’ life was transformed when he decided to make restitution for his wrongdoings and follow Jesus.

Jesus’ mission on earth was focused on rescuing those who were far from God, living in sin and spiritually lost. He came preaching repentance and forgiveness. He offers a new life to everyone, no matter how far off they have wandered.

Our purpose is to partner with Jesus’ mission to seek and save the lost. Today as you pray and fast, ask the Lord to give you a deeper revelation of this purpose. Don’t stop asking until ‘seeking to save the lost’ is the overflow of your heart.
