“For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19 NASB)

Christ’s obedience made the way for many to be made righteous.

His obedience mattered.

Adam’s disobedience affected many.

Jesus’ obedience redeemed many.

Obedience is never private.

It always impacts others.

At our church, we normally baptize on the first weekend of every month. This Saturday, a member came to me after renouncing his connection with the Freemasons and expressed a strong desire to be baptized. I told him to sign up for February.

He shared that he felt an urgency in his spirit to do it sooner.

I offered the next day. I could tell he wanted to say yes, but he didn’t want to inconvenience me or the church. He said yes.

The next day, he and his wife were baptized.

After that, 28 people spontaneously came forward and were baptized—fully clothed. I have never seen anything like it.

One man’s obedience to renounce.

One man’s obedience to be baptized.

And the door opened for many others to walk in freedom.

Your obedience or disobedience impacts more than just you.

Prayer

Lord, give me a willing heart to obey You quickly. Let my obedience open doors for others to experience freedom. May my life reflect Christ’s obedience.
