It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. (John 16:21)

My beautiful wife and I are blessed to have 5 children. I can remember each birth and pain that she had to endure. Multiple times she said she didn’t want to have more kids after the pain she suffered, but as soon as she delivered the baby, she forgot about all the pain. The life that came into this world was worth all the pain and suffering that she went through.

In John 16, Jesus was comparing the pain and suffering of the cross to a woman giving birth. Jesus knew how painful it was going to be, the lashing he would endure, the mockery that he would experience, and the blood he would have to shed. It was all worth it because he knew it would produce life! Your salvation is not by accident! You are worth the beating he took. You are worth the blood that was shed, and you are worth him dying for you.

Walk in a committed life to Christ, knowing you are worthy of the choice he made!
